A Chemical Skin Peel effectively removes the top layers of dead skin cells whilst stimulating the renewal of new skin cells, helping to reveal brighter, healthier, more radiant skin.
Our range of Chemical Skin Peels are minimally invasive treatments, using controlled acid based skin products. Chemical skin peels can help to treat problematic skin by successfully targeting individual skin concerns with minimal recovery time.
What is a Chemical Skin Peel?
A Chemical Skin Peel is a non-surgical treatment which involves applying one or more acids onto the skin to accelerate the turnover of of skin cells. The acid causes exfoliation of the dead skin cells which is normally seen by the skin shedding or flaking away from the surface. Chemical Skin Peels regenerate the skin and aid the repair of deeper layers in the skin helping to improve Blemishes on the skin.
Even if your skin is blemish-free, a peel can help refresh your skin‘s naturally radiant appearance and encourage cellular renewal. Bringing healthy fresh skin cells to the surface reveals a beautiful, clear complexion.
We offer a variety of skin peels to cater to all skin types and concerns. Our chemical peels include a range of different acids such as,
Glycolic acid is a alpha-hydroxy acid and one of the most effective exfoliating chemicals. Glycolic acid is a very popular ingredient in Chemical Skin Peels and its know as the ‘holy grail’ for exfoliating and removing the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. This helps to reveal brighter, fresher more rejuvenated skin. Gylcolic acid is used mostly to treat fine rejuvenating a deep clensing the skin, is can also helps with scaring, pigmentation and fine lines and wrinkles. Glycolic is generally used for a more superficial Chemical Skin Peel, with very little down time.
Salicylic acid is a keratolytic AKA a peeling agent, this is a popular ingredient when treating Acne as it helps to dissolve debris left on the skin such as left over make up, dirt and sebum. Salicylic acid can directly dissolve the keratin plugs and regulate the skin cells, helping to reduce blocked pores, congestion and active acne. Salicylic can be used in suprfical, medium and deep Chemical skin Peels.
TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid)
TCA is extremely effective for treating aged and sun damaged skin, it works by removing dead skin cells and stimulation new skin cell growth. It is one of the stronger Acids, meaning you are more likely to get skin shedding. Once the dead skin cells have sloughed away you are left with fresh, healthy skin and have encouraged new skin cell growth. Helping to achieve a more youthful appearance.
Jessner is a combination of lactic, Salicylic and resorcinol acid. Combining these 3 acids together creates an acid called Jessner. Jessner Chemical Skin Peels are mostly used for treating sun damage and pigmentation, because of its high percentage of peeling agent clients can expect to experience noticeable peeling and flaking for approximatley 3-5 days. With this increased skin cell turn over it can really help to reduce pigmentation and reveal fresh, healthy skin.
We have TWO brilliant Chemical Skin Peel ranges, Dermecutic and Circadia. Within those ranges we offer a couple of different Chemical Skin Peels, the Milk Peel, Mela Peel, TCA peel and the Jessner. We believe that these Chemical Skin Peels can help treat all skin concerns effectively.

Which Chemical Skin Peel Treatment Is Right For You?
Whether you’re looking for the best skin peel for acne scars, to reduce the signs of ageing or a way to get clearer, more radiant skin, then we can help you. Here at The Body Clinic, we offer a range of chemical skin peels including a glycolic acid peel treatment, a salicylic acid peel for acne and a TCA peel treatment.
How It Works
A chemical peel works by using one or more acids that are applied to the skin. Once applied to your skin the acid and the protein in your skin react, causing peeling and exfoliation of your skin.
A chemical peel can target different depths of the skin. A mild, superficial peel works on the surface (epidermis) of your skin to remove dead skin cells and encourage the renewal of healthy cells. Whereas medium or deep peels work on the epidermis and into the dermis to not only exfoliate dead skin cells but to also stimulate collagen and elastin.
Chemical peels can be used to improve acne, pigmentation, ageing and wrinkles, acne scars, skin tone and texture. They are an excellent way to rejuvenate and refresh the skin.
The glycolic acid peel treatment is one of the most popular treatments as it offers effective exfoliation, but with minimal downtime, as it works mainly on the top layers of skin.
If you’re looking for a stronger exfoliation, then the TCA peel treatment might be a better solution for, as it works on a deeper level to not only exfoliate dead skin cells, but to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin to regenerate healthy new skin.
Our salicylic acid peel for acne can help to treat acne by reducing sebum production, reducing inflammation, killing acne-causing bacteria, reducing scarring and stimulating new cell growth. We highly recommend our salicylic skin peel to treat acne and blemished skin.
Our highly-qualified and experienced practitioners will work with you to create a bespoke treatment plan for you based on your skin type, problems and results you’d like to achieve. Most skin peel treatments take around 30 minutes to complete.
A chemical skin peel gives you a deep exfoliation and helps regenerate new, fresh skin cells. Your skin will look smoother, younger and brighter. It’s effective for treating skin problems such as acne, sun damage, wrinkles and fine lines and pigmentation too. Giving you smooth, soft and glowing skin.
You can use a skin peel as a one-off treatment, however, for the best results, we recommend a course of 4-8 sessions, spaced around 3-4 weeks apart.
