How many sessions of Fat Freezing will I need?
How many sessions of Fat Freezing you need will depend on a few things. Your treatment goals, your weight and how your body responds to the procedure.
Freezing is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment that reduces unwanted, pockets of fat. Also called Cryolipolysis, Fat Freezing treatments are non-invasive, plus they are pain-free and there is no recovery time.
It works by freezing your fat cells to around -10°c. This kills some of the fat cells, leading to a reduction in the size of the area treated. After your fat cells have been destroyed, your body will slowly remove them via your lymphatic system. The dead cells are eliminated in your normal waste process.
We advise that it takes your body approximately 8 to 12 weeks to complete this process. After which you should be able to notice a reduction of the fat pocket.
Clinical studies have shown reductions of between 20% – 40% of the number of fat cells in the treated area. We normally advise that around a 30% reduction might be achieved.
It’s important to remember that the process of Cryolipolysis is causing a reaction in your body that kills some of your fat cells. Your body has to respond to this and take action to recover the area. Meaning that results can vary amongst individuals and some clients will respond better than others.
As with all non-surgical treatments, results can be dependant on your health and medical status and your lifestyle choices. Fat Freezing is not a “miracle” treatment or a reason to head straight to McDonald’s. It’s really important that you follow any aftercare instruction that we provide or another clinic provides.
How Many Fat Freezing Sessions?
How many sessions of Fat Freezing will you need? At The Body Clinic, we normally recommend 3 Fat Freezing treatments per body area. This may be more or less depending on your body shape or size, and how well your body responds to each treatment.
To achieve the best results, we recommend spacing each treatment between 8-12 weeks apart. This will allow enough time for your body to process the dead fat cells and to see the full results.
This allows us to assess your suitability for additional treatments. We want to make sure that additional treatments are targeting a new layer of fat, not just retreating some of the fat cells that have already died.
